The Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority is promoting the professional development of its engineering workforce through two concurrent initiatives. Firstly, the Authority is sponsoring a 12-month graduate engineering internship program for 12 recent graduates to gain on-the-job skills training under the guidance of experienced technical mentors. Secondly, four of the Authority’s in-house engineers are undergoing rigorous upskilling courses over the year to bridge competency gaps. By blending new talent infusion with advanced capacity building of existing talent, the Authority aims to elevate its execution capabilities to fulfill its civil engineering project responsibilities to the highest technical standards and quality benchmarks. Beyond addressing internal skills development, these initiatives also boost the professional preparedness of engineers in the region at large. The Authority plans to expanding its intern intake and specialized courses in the future to widen accessibility and opportunities for engineers entering the job market.
