Mega water Storage Reservoirs Development

Over the Years the Authority have built four (4) mega dams supporting domestic water, provision, irrigation and livestock water for conflict proven communities of Marsabit, Mandera and Wajir Counties.  The Storage volume created for water storage reservoir is 1,800,000m3 under water for peace program. Additionally, 56 small water pans medium sized water pans improved the access and availability to potable water by the communities and the livestock providing combined storage capacity of three Million cubic meters.

Three major water Supply Schemes were also developed serving Engilai, Rhamu and Della Communities of Samburu, Mandera and Wajir respectively. A total human population of 160,000 accessed waters for the livelihood support like small subsistence farming and livestock production.

Clean water adequate and affordable water.

    The Authority also constructed and equipped 17 boreholes supporting 27,500 households, 21,500 cattle,79,500 shoats and 23,300 camels.

    The Authority also supported construction and laying of 67kilometres of water distribution pipeline supporting over 120,000 households in various centres of Samburu East Sub-County, Eldas Sub- County and in Rhamu sub-county of Samburu, Wajir and Mandera respectively.

    The project also supported the provision of clean adequate water to three secondary schools, four primary schools and two health centers of Olmoran in Laikipia West and Rhamu Sub-counties.
