The ERP
The Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority has implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for its employees and public services. The application of e-commerce and digital identity advancements has significantly transformed the Authority’s operations, societal dynamics, and general governance structures. However, disparities in access to and skills for applying these technologies, as well as regulatory framework bottlenecks, have been key challenges experienced in adopting the ERP system.
To further digitize its services, the Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority intends to move 20% of its offerings to online platforms by the end of fiscal year 2023/2024. Key services to be transitioned include online sales of essential oils, interlocking blocks, and camel milk. This progress in e-service delivery will increase convenience and accessibility for the public while streamlining internal processes. Overcoming lingering technology skill gaps within the Authority and establishing supportive regulations will be critical to the success of this digital transformation initiative.
