In support of catchment conservation strategies and the National target of expanding vegetation cover, the Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority has promoted the planting and cultivation of 2 million assorted tree seedlings within the river basin. This reforestation effort aligns with broader aims to mitigate the effects of climate change and enhance the health of ecosystems in the Ewaso Ng’iro watershed. By driving large-scale tree planting initiatives, the Authority is contributing to basin-wide catchment conservation goals, building ecological resilience in the face of environmental change, and working to achieve national commitments towards increased forested land. These multifaceted benefits underscore reforestation as a high impact pathway for regional sustainability. Looking ahead, the Authority will continue serving as a leader in catalyzing ambitious green growth campaigns across communities in the Ewaso Ng’iro River area.
