The Authority promoted the use of interlocking stabilized soil blocks in order to address the need for affordable housing. The technology transfer related to the production of these blocks has increased substantially, helping to tackle the national issues of affordable housing and poverty reduction. As the blocks require minimal cement and no transportation costs, they are economical options for most rural residents. Their effective implementation has reduced housing expenditures by half, while also providing structural employment and skills training. The Authority has established three production centers for interlocking stabilized soil blocks, supplemented by two additional mobile centers, further enabling adoption of this beneficial building material.
